Common Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay to the petitioners a sum of Rs.1,33,092/-, Rs.2,18,394/- and Rs.1,72,835/- respectively, as shown in the affidavits.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that though the petitioner in all writ petitions are entitled interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits such as encashment of earned leave and commutation, it has to be considered by the first respondent.

Without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petitions, the first respondent is directed to consider the request made by the petitioners insofar as the commutation & interest and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the
second respondent is directed to consider the eligibility of the petitioner insofar as the commutation and interest and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. 4.
