Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in the order bearing No. in with order in G.O.(D) No.659 Home (Prison- IV) Department, dated 26.06.2019 passed by respondent no.1 and quash the same and directing the respondents to release the petitioner's husband namely Saravanan, S/o. Munusamy, Life Convict, Ct.No.6920, aged about 51 years, now confined in the Central Prison - I, Puzhal, Chennai, immediately under G.O.Ms.No.64 Home (Prison-IV) Department dated 01.02.2018.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR,J.) This writ petition is filed for the following relief. "Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in the order bearing No. in with order in G.O.(D) No.659 Home (Prison- IV) Department, dated 26.06.2019 passed by respondent no.1 and quash the same and directing the respondents to release the petitioner's husband namely

Saravanan, S/o. Munusamy, Life Convict, Ct.No.6920, aged about 51 years, now confined in the Central Prison - I, Puzhal, Chennai."

2. Today, when the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.E.Raj Thilak, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, states that the prayer has become infructous in view of the order passed by Home (Prison - IV) Department in G.O(Ms) No.481 dated 09.09.2023.
