O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to continue to pay the subsistence allowance to the petitioner from September 2020 onwards to the petitioner.

2. According to the petitioner, the petitioner was working as Assessment Officer in the office of the Executive Engineer (O&M), TANGEDCO, Thiruvallur Town. Thereafter, on 30.10.2013, he was placed under suspension on the ground that his community certificate verification is pending before the State Level Scrutiny Committee. Thereafter, he made a representation dated 08.02.2022 to the respondents requesting to pay subsistence allowance for a period from September 2020 to January 2022 (17 months). But so far, the respondents have not paid the same to the petitioner. Since he was placed under suspension for verification of community certificate. Therefore, he has filed the instant writ petition before this Court for appropriate direction.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 2/4

submitted that the said representation would be considered and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

In view of the above said submissions made by the parties, considering the limited scope of prayer and without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is inclined to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.02.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as early as possible, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
