No. 1889 of 2016 dated 05.12.2017 on the file of the Learned VII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town, Chennai confirmed in Crl.A.No. 5 of 2018 dated 26.7.2018 on the file of the Learned XVI Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai-1 pending disposal of the above Criminal Revision Petition. [CRL.MP.NO.11103/2018] Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.E.SATHIYARAJ, Advocate for the petitioner , the court made the following order:- This petitioner/Appellant was convicted by the Trial Court for the punishable offence under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act and sentenced to undergo six months simple imprisonment and also imposed fine of Rs.
5,000/- in default to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one month and the accused was directed to pay compensation of Rs.75,000/- to the respondent/ complainant. Challenging the said conviction and sentence, pending revision, the petitioner has filed the present petition.
2. The sentence of the imprisonment imposed on the petitioner shall stand suspend on condition that the petitioner shall deposit for a sum of Rs.75,000/- awarded by the Court below as compensation https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3.
