ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner/accused to quash the FIR in Crime No.1706 of 2014 on the file of the first respondent herein.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the first respondent police submitted that the investigation has been completed and the charge sheet has also been filed.

3. Since the charge sheet has already been filed, this petition has become infructuous.

4. Further, it is seen from the records that the FIR has been registered in the year 2014 i.e. on 16.09.2014, whereas the charge sheet has been filed only yesterday i.e. on 30.06.2025 and that the matter has been kept pending at the stage of investigation for 11 years.

5. Therefore, the Commissioner of Police, Avadi is directed to take action against the Investigating Officers who were all holding the post from the 2/5

date of FIR i.e. from 16.09.2014 to till the date of filing of charge sheet and file action take report before this Court on or before 30.07.2025.

6. With the above directions this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed at the admission stage itself. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.

7. List the matter on 31.07.2025 "for reporting compliance" 01.07.2025 Index : Yes / No Speaking Order : Yes / No ksa-2 Note: Issue order copy on 02.07.2025.
