PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to renew the passport in Passport No.G7878641, which was filed before the 2nd respondent on 03.04.2008 (expired on 02.04.2018).

By consent of both the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The petitioner has filed this Writ petition, seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to renew the passport in Passport No.G7878641, which was issued on 03.04.2008, as the same expired on 02.04.2018. The petitioner had also made a representation for renewal of the Passport on 05.06.2018, vide File No.MA1071239410118, and Token No.N553 before the 2nd respondent and the same has not been renewed.

3.Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Poonam Chopra, learned Central Government Standing Counsel who takes notice for the respondents.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the petitioner's renewal application dated 05.06.2018 shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. Such an exercise shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
