This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to grant bail to enlarge the petitioner on bail in C.C.No.32 of 2021 on the file of the Principal Special Court for EC & NDPS Act, Chennai in Crime No.3789 of 2020 on the file of the Inspector of Police, M 4 Redhills Police Station, Chennai.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with six accused have been arrested in connection with the possession of ganja, measuring 651 kgs on 18/8/2020 which were kept in van proceeding towards Ponneri - Redhills route.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was arrested by the respondent Police on 12/2/2021, for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 8 (c) r/w. 20 (b) (ii) (c), 25 and 29 (1) of NDPS Act.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) would submit that if the petitioner is released on bail, he will try to tamper the evidences. He would further submit that charge sheet has also been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. As the allegations appear to be serious, and also considering the fact that charge sheet has also been filed, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner and this petition deserves to be dismissed.

6. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
