Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to number the petition filed by the petitioner on 01.11.2021 and dispose the same in accordance with law.

ORDER

Mrs.M.Geetha Thamaraiselvan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

2. This Writ Petition is being disposed at the time of admission after hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.

3. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for a Mandamus, to direct the respondent to number the petition filed by the petitioner on 01.11.2021, under Section 53 of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Act, 1959.

4. It is submitted that the petitioner has also sent a reminder on 28.12.2021, still it has not been evoked any response from the respondent.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent on the other hand would submit that not only the petitioner but also the other members of the family have filed https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

a similar petition with the application filed by the petitioner and that a report of the Inspector of HR&CE has been called for and thereafter an enquiry will be held.

6. Considering the above, I am inclined to dispose this writ petition by directing the respondent to number the petition filed by the petitioner under Section 53 of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Act, 1959 and take steps to complete the proceedings within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of in terms of the above observations. No costs.
