1. R.Vasan S/o.Ramanujam, Old No.181, New No.52, North Usman Road, T.Nagar, Chennai 600 017 Respondent(s) PRAYER To set aside the order of dismissal dated 4.3.2026 passed in MP.No.1/2026 in RLTOP.No. 645/2025 by the XIV Small Causes Court at Chennai. For Petitioner(s):

MR.V.Nallasenapathy For Respondent(s):

ORDER

This Civil Revision Petition has been filed seeking to set aside the order of dismissal dated 4.3.2026 passed in MP.No.1/2026 in RLTOP.No. 645/2025 by the XIV Small Causes Court at Chennai.

2. The petitioner herein filed MP.No.1/2026 in RLTOP.No. 645/2025 on the file of the XIV Small Causes Court at Chennai, seeking to direct the landlord/respondent to produce the lease agreement from 01.03.2024 to 31.01.2025. Upon hearing both sides, the Trial Court dismissed the petition by holding that production of rental or lease agreement would not alter the nature of the case as the tenancy is very well admitted by the petitioner. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner filed this Civil Revision Petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in para 5(1) of the petition the respondent/landlord admitted that the rental agreement was renewed on 01.03.2024 for a period of 11 months ending with 31.01.2025 but in chief examination he denied the above averment. Therefore, the production of lease agreement is necessary for the petitioner to defend his case. Hence, he prays to admit this petition.

4. Heard the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. Admittedly, the petitioner has not disputed the tenancy. Therefore, the production of lease agreement would not alter the nature of the case, which was rightly observed by the Trial Court which needs no interference. Accordingly,

this Civil Revision Petition is dismissed as no merits. No Costs. Pending petition, if any, is closed.
