O R D E R

The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 442, 392, 397 and 506(ii) of IPC, in Crime No.147 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioners along with other accused on 22.06.2020 trespassed into the defacto complainant's shop and threatened him by saying that they are local rowdies and by attacking him with knife taken cash of Rs.2,000/-. Hence, a case was registered against the petitioners.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent persons and they did not commit any offence as alleged by the prosecution. The learned counsel further submitted that in order to create bad antecedents, the defacto complainant lodged a false complaint against these petitioners. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioners have taken Rs.2,000/- from the defacto complainant at knife point and threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, the learned Public Prosecutor vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5. Considering the nature of offence committed by the petitioners, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

6. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed.
