ORDER

The present Contempt Petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging non-compliance of the order dated 04.11.2016 passed by this Court in W.P.No.8597 of 2014, in and by which, this Court, while disposing of the said Writ Petition in W.P.No.8597 of 2014, has directed the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation dated 20.05.2013 to the Joint Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Vellore, along with a

copy of the said order dated 04.11.2016, within a period of two weeks, and on receipt of such representation, the Joint Commissioner shall consider the representation of the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders with regard to sanction of pension and to settle necessary dues to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of such representation and also by taking into account, the proceedings of the Commissioner, the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Chennai - 34, in Aathimu.31534/2013/H3, dated 12.06.2013 addressed to the Joint Commissioner.

2. Today, when the Contempt Petition is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner represented that after receiving a notice of contempt from this Court, the respondent has issued an enquiry notice calling the petitioner for enquiry, and the petitioner has also attended the enquiry proceedings on 14.09.2018, as scheduled. Thereafter, no orders have been passed by the respondent regarding the entire settlement of pending dues of the petitioner.

3. Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader (HR&CE), who appeared for the respondent would submit that in respect of the petitioner's claim for settlement of his pending dues, necessary orders will be passed by the

respondent within a period of four weeks.

4. Recording the said statement of the learned Special Government Pleader (HR&CE), this Contempt Petition is closed.
