Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the original impugned proceedings dated 26.03.2009 passed in Na.Ka.No.5052/B1/2005 on the file of the 2nd respondent herein and to quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to consider the petitioner for giving appointment to her on compassionate grounds with all attendant benefits.

O R D E R

The petitioner is aggrieved against the order of the second respondent dated 26.03.2009, in rejecting the request of the petitioner to consider her for appointment on compassionate ground.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is seen that the petitioner's father worked at the office of the 4th respondent as Special Grade Office Assistant and died on 20.09.1990. However, the petitioner made the request for compassionate appointment on 10.01.2005, nearly after 15 years. Therefore, the said request was rejected by the second respondent, solely on the reason that the same was made with inordinate delay. I do not find any reason to interfere with the impugned order, as the reason stated therein appears to be just and proper.

Needless to say that such inordinate delay in approaching the authority seeking for compassionate appointment cannot be termed as a genuine attempt, since the very object of providing the compassionate appointment is to lend a helping hand to the needed family, immediately after the death of such employee. As the petitioner approached after 15 years and that the said request was rightly rejected by the second respondent, this Court is not inclined to interfere with such rejection. Accordingly, the writ petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
