ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the 2nd respondent to renew the passport of petitioner's minor son Karthiknivash bearing passport No.P2446433 issued on 23.02.2017 from 22.02.2022 until further orders within specified time.
2. Mr.S.P.Arthi, learned counsel takes notice for the 2nd respondent.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that the passport which was issued in favour of the petitioner's minor son namely Karthivinash was expired on 22.02.2022. Hence, he made a representation on 09.11.2022 to the 2nd respondent/Passport authority seeking renewal of passport in respect of his minor son. However, till date, no action has been taken on the same. Hence, this Writ Petition.
4. Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to renew the passport of his minor son by
considering the representation made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. Learned Counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent submits that the petitioner's representation on 09.11.2022 will be considered and appropriate orders would be passed on the same.
6. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.11.22 seeking renewal of passport in respect of his minor son and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs. 03.04.2023 Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes NHS
