PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records from the second respondent relating to recruitment for the post of Assistant Professor in Periyar College of Arts and Science at Edappadi, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Mettur, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Pennagram, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Pappireddipatty by notification dated 09.12.2014 quash the same and direct the second respondent to issue fresh notification in pursuant of G.O.Ms.No.65, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (K) Department dated 27.05.2009

which was issued by first respondent.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed challenging the selection notification dated 09.12.2014 issued by the second respondent, pertaining to recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in Periyar College of Arts and Science at Edappadi, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Mettur, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Pennagram, Periyar College of Arts and Science at Pappireddipatty and for a consequential direction to direct the second respondent to issue fresh notification.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent submitted that the recruitment pursuant to the notification dated 09.12.2014 has been completed in the year 2014 itself

and also further by G.O.Ms.184, Higher Education (G1) Department dated 11.12.2020, the above said colleges have been taken over by the Government.

3. In view of the above developments, the prayer sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition no longer survives. Therefore, the prayer has become infructuous.

4. Accordingly, the Writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs. 18.10.2024 Index :Yes/No Speaking order : Yes nsl To 1.
