Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to pass an order equalizing the "Automobile Engineering Degree" on par with "Mechanical Engineering Degree" for the purpose of appointment as per the norms prescribed by the third respondent to be followed by the fourth and fifth respondents.

O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to pass an order equalizing the "Automobile Engineering Degree" on par with "Mechanical Engineering Degree" for the purpose of appointment, as per the norms prescribed by the third respondent to be followed by the respondents 4 and 5.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it is not appropriate to take a decision on the issue, equalizing "Automobile Engineering Degree" on par with "Mechanical Engineering Degree" for the purpose of education alone. Therefore, to settle the issue once for all, the learned counsel prayed this Court to direct the respondents to place this issue before the equivalence committee, which shall render its decision, considering all the aspects in detail, for which, the learned counsel appearing for the respective respondents have no serious objection.
3.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the fifth respondent to place this issue, after getting remarks from the respondents 4 and 6, before the equivalence committee, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt, the Equivalence Committee shall consider the same in detail, as per the Regulations of the third respondent and forward the same to the respondents 1 and 2 for passing appropriate orders. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks thereafter.
4.With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
