Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.03.2021.

ORDER

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 17.03.2021.

2. The petitioner claimed to be a fishermen has been doing fishing activities in and around Thirumullaivoyal water bodies and he has applied to the second respondent on 17.03.2021, for issuance of membership/identity card of the Tamil Nadu Fishermen Welfare Board and the said representation since has not been considered and no action seems to have been taken so far, he has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. Heard, Mr.G.Anandaraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, who seeks indulgence of this Court by reiterating the aforesaid facts.

4. Heard Mr.M.Kamalesh Kannan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, who on instructions would submit that the said request by way of representation dated 17.03.2021 submitted by the petitioner would be considered and decided on merits by the second respondent, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the said submission made by both sides and taking into account the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for herein, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order:- That there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2021 and pass orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
