ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction, directing the respondent to renew petitioner passport- File No.MAE076041412125 (ARN 251066796816) dated 08.12.2025.
2. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner applied for re-issue of passport on 26.11.2025 for correction of the door number in the petitioner's residential address. All the formalities were done, however, when the petitioner verified the status of his application through online, it revealed that the application is under review at Regional Passport Office. Since the petitioner's application was kept pending without any progress, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition before this Court for appropriate directions.
4. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that petitioner's application dated 26.11.2025 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed by the respondent on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court without going into the merits of the case directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's passport application dated 26.11.2025/File No.MAE076041412125 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with Passport Act and Rules, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
