IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS

DATED: 24.07.2024 Coram THE HON'BLE MR JUSTICE V. LAKSHMINARAYANAN Contempt Petition No.1489 of 2024 S.Sivakami ... Petitioner -VersusP.Jothi Prakash, Regional Head, Central Bank of India, Regional Office, No.14/15, Variety Hall Road, Coimbatore - 641 001.

... Respondent Contempt Petition filed under section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondent for committing the contempt of court for disobeying the order dated 1306.2023 passed by the Court in W.P.No.4081 of 2013.

For Petitioner : Mr.V.Subramani For Respondent : Mr.T.M.Hariharan

ORDER

This contempt petition alleges that the respondent did not comply with the order of this Court in W.P.No.4081 of 2013 dated 13.06.2023.

2. When the contempt petition came up for hearing, I directed the learned counsel for the petitioner to serve an entire set of papers to Mr.T.M.Hariharan, the counsel who represented the Central Bank of India.

3. Today, Mr.T.M.Hariharan has filed a typed set of papers stating that on 29.06.2024, the bank had rejected the request for appointment of the petitioner. Since the order was only to consider the application of the petitioner for appointment and as the respondent has rejected the same, I do not find any ground to keep the contempt pending.

4. Accordingly, this contempt petition is dismissed. It is needless to add that it is left open to the petitioner to challenge the order dated 29.06.2024 in the manner known to law.
