The learned counsel for the plaintiff and the first defendant filed a joint memo of compromise signed by the plaintiff and the first defendant dated 17.04.2023. As per the joint memo of compromise, the plaintiff agreed to receive a sum of Rs.17 lakhs from the first defendant in full and final settlement for giving up all the rights claimed in the suit in respect of agreements dated 25.12.2022 and 30.12.2022 regarding the distribution rights of the suit film titled "KARUNKAPPIYAM."

2. It is also stated that as per the compromise memo, 50% of the agreed total sum of Rs.8,50,000/- was paid by the first defendant in favour of the plaintiff by way of Demand Draft dated 17.04.2023 bearing No.506932 drawn on ICICI Bank, T.Nagar Branch, today.

3. The first defendant agreed to pay the balance of Rs.8,50,000/- within three months from today or before releasing of the film 1/3

which ever is earlier. It is also agreed by the first respondent/assignee of the copyrights from the producer namely second defendant that she would not release the film "KARUNKAPPIYAM" any where in the territory of Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, before the payment of balance to the plaintiff.

4. The plaintiff also agreed to withdraw the suit after payment of the entire amount by the first defendant within a time stipulated in the compromise memo. The joint compromise of memo filed by the parties is recorded and the Original Application is disposed of in terms of the joint compromise of memo.
