Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita/Section 482 Cr.P.C, seeking to permit the petitioners to surrender and file a bail application before the learned Special Judge for Trial of cases under SC/ST (POA) Act, Coimbatore and consider the petitioners' bail application on merits and in accordance with law on the same day of their surrender in connection with Crime No.53 of 2026, on the file of the 1st respondent herein. 1/4

O R D E R
This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Special Judge for Trial of Cases under SC/ST (POA) Act, Coimbatore, to accept the surrender of the petitioners and to consequently, consider their bail petitions on the same day, on merits, in connection with Crime No.53 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police.
2. In view of the specific bar under Section 18 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and also taking into consideration the possibility of misusing the pious intention of the Parliament against innocent persons, there shall be a direction to the jurisdictional Court, to consider the petitioners' bail applications, preferably on the same day of their surrender, in connection with Crime No.53 of 2026 on the file of the respondent-police and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the victims under Section 15-A of the SC/ST (POA) Act, 1989. petitioners shall surrender before the jurisdictional Court within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
3. In view of the above, this criminal original petition stands allowed.
