ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent police to produce the body of the petitioner's minor daughter viz., S.Renuka Devi, aged 17 years, before this Court and hand over her to the petitioner. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Renuka Devi, aged about 17 years, went missing from 12.04.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

Today, C.Thirunagaran (Mobile No.94981 70852), Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Bargur Police Station, Bargur Taluk, Krishnagiri District, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Bargur Police Station Crime No.101 of 2022 was registered on 14.04.2022 for 'girl missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Renuka Devi was in love with Ajith Kumar, third respondent herein and has eloped with him.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bargur Sub-Division, Krishnagiri District, to supervise the investigation in Bargur Police Station Crime No.101 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Renuka Devi, aged about 17 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Krishnagiri District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law. The investigation shall be expedited.
