Writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.03.2026 and to provide proper medical treatment to the petitioner's husband namely Mr.Pradeep son of Darga Mohan, aged 29 years, remand prisoner, PID No.75115, now confined in the Central Prison, Vellore.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the official respondents to consider her representation dated 09.03.2026 for providing medical treatment to her husband, who is a remand prisoner in Central Prison, Vellore.

2. Mr.R.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor assisted by Mr.M.Sylvester John, learned counsel who accepts notice for the respondents, has instructions and furnishes a copy of medical certificate dated 21.03.2026 that, according to him, prima facie indicates that the general condition of the petitioner's husband is satisfactory.

3. Be that as it may, since the petitioner apprehends that her husband's medical condition is adverse and in need of immediate medical attention, let the

representation be considered and orders passed on the representation within a period of one (1) week from today.

4. Since under representation dated 09.03.2026, the petitioner has also sought an opportunity to meet her husband, let the authorities also consider this request in accordance with the extant Rules.

5. With this, and as the purpose of the mandamus stands achieved by virtue of this order, this Writ Petition and the connected Miscellaneous Petition are closed.
