This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed seeking condonation of delay of 182 days in filing the appeal.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, who was married to the third respondent/A3, belongs to an underprivileged community. He further submitted that the petitioner had earlier lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws in Crime No.9 of 2022, which was taken up for trial in Spl.S.C.No.72 of 2022 on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Court, Ariyalur. The said case concluded with a judgment dated 27.06.2025, wherein the accused were acquitted. However, the petitioner came to know about the said judgment only later and therefore, subsequently, she filed a copy application on 29.10.2025, which was made ready on 11.11.2025. Thereafter, upon obtaining proper legal advice, the petitioner has filed the present appeal with a delay of 182 days. He further submitted that if the delay is not condoned, the petitioner would be put to great hardship. Mr.M.Vignesh, learned counsel, who takes notice for respondents 1 to 3, submitted that the petitioner has not averred any proper reason for the delay in filing the appeal. Hence, he vehemently opposed for condoning the delay. 4.

Ms.J.R.Archana, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), entered appearance for the fourth respondent and submitted that she has no objection in this petition being allowed.

The reasons adduced in the affidavit filed in support of this petition being satisfactory, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered and consequently, the delay of 182 days in filing the appeal is condoned. 15.04.2026 ham Note: Registry is directed to number the Criminal Appeal, if it is, otherwise, in order and list the same for admission in due course.
