O R D E R

The petitioner is having electricity connection at the property bearing Plot No.107, ''Tellus Avenue", Murugamangalam Village, Kanchipuram District with consumer no.576004303. Since the petitioner is not residing in the said property, he used to visit the property often. On such visit on 04.03.2017, it was found that the complete overhead cable connected to the petitioner's property was cut of and stolen by some miscreant. In this regard, the petitioner gave complaint to the electricity authorities and also to the Superintendent of Police on 04.03.2017. Even after that nothing has been done to restore the electricity connection. Therefore, the petitioner has come before this Court.

2. Heard Mr.M.Arun Kumar, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.K.Rameshwar, learned Counsel for the respondents. The fourth respondent is present before this Court.

3. Based on the information given by the petitioner to the Electricity Board, the fourth respondent gave complaint to the Police department and a FIR in Cr.No.39 of 2017 dated 17.03.2017 has been registered at the Kayar Police Station. The respondents are taking steps to restore the electricity connection to the petitioner's property at the board's costs.

4. In view of that the respondents are directed to take appropriate steps to restore the electricity connection to the petitioner's property within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.

5. Post the matter after four weeks for reporting compliance.
