Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant service connection to the petitioner portion situated at No.45, B.E.Colony Main Road, Sivan Koil Street, Kodambakkam, Puliyur, Egmore, Chennai, based on the petitioner's application dated 15.11.2024 bearing No.200092251124765 and pass such other orders as this Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstance of the case.

ORDER

The prayer in the Writ Petition is to grant service connection to the petitioner for his portion of the property situated at No.45, B.E.Colony Main Road, Sivan Koil Street, Kodambakkam, Puliyur, Egmore, Chennai, based on the petitioner's application dated 15.11.2024 bearing No.200092251124765.

2. When the matter came up for admission, Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned counsel taking notice on behalf of the respondents would submit that 2/6

when the application was earlier processed the necessary charges was not paid and in view thereof, the application stood lapsed. If the petitioner makes a fresh application and pays the relevant charges, the connection will be duly effected in accordance with the Rules.

3. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms;

(i) The petitioner shall make a fresh application and upon the application being made, the authorities shall inspect and call for the relevant charges. Upon payment of the charges, the connection shall be effected. The petitioner shall make a fresh application within a period of one week from the date of receipt of the web copy order, without waiting for the certified copy of the order. As and when such an application is made within 8 weeks therefrom the entire process shall be completed by the responders.

(ii) No costs.
