O R D E R

With consent of both sides, this Writ Petition has been taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to de-freeze the petitioner's bank account maintained with the second respondent.

3. On a perusal of the records, it is revealed that the petitioner is an accused in Crime No.770 of 2024 registered for the offences punishable under Section 4(1)(a) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, alleging that the petitioner is in possession of liquor bottles. The petitioner's husband is a habitual offender and he is facing more than 20 cases for the very same 2/5

offences under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act. Till today, the investigation is pending. In pursuance of the registration of the First Information Report, on the request made by the second respondent, the third respondent has frozen the account of the petitioner and did not permit the petitioner to operate her account. Therefore, till the completion of the investigation, the direction sought in this Writ Petition cannot be considered.
