PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent not to insist to carry original driving licence at the time of riding vehicle, which causes more inconvenience to the general public and lead to bribe society on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 28.8.2017.

ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioner had given a letter dated 25.6.2018 to the Registry seeking to post the above writ petition for withdrawal. Hence, the matter is listed under the caption 'for withdrawal'. Today, when the case is called, a similar request is made and an endorsement is made to the following effect :

"This PIL was filed against the announcement made by the Government of Tamil Nadu that the vehicle riders should carry original driving licence when every driver is in driver seat. But, taking note of the fact that nowadays the officials concerned are not insisting to produce original https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

driving licences, the petitioner would like to withdraw this public interest litigation."

2. In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs. Consequently, the connected WMPs are also dismissed.
