Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent authority to give permission to conduct the dance programme Balikadu, Appamasamuthiram Post, Aathur Taluk, Salem District, festival of Sri Magamariamman Koil Thiruvila on 24.06.2015 representation dated 16.06.2015.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Dharmakartha of Sri Magamariamman Temple, situated at Balikadu, Appamasamuthiram Post, Aathur Taluk, Salem District and he submitted a representation/application dated 16.06.2015 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program on 24.06.2015, in connection with the festival of the said temple, which includes song and dance programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of

the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 16.06.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 23.06.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.

6. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
