Mr.B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry)takes notice for the respondents and by consent of the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to survey the land in R.S.No.124/4 and subdivide the same based on the ownership coupled with possession of petitioner and correct the wrong entries and consequently issue a separate patta in petitioner's name by adjudicating the petition dated 14.08.2017 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court, is that the said petition has not been considered so far. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the 2nd respondent to consider and decide the same. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petition dated 14.08.2017 made by the petitioner and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the rival claimants, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
