The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(b), 24(1) of Cegarette and other Tobacco Products Acts, 2003 and Section 328 of IPC in Crime No. 357 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the respondent police arrested one Lakshman Singh for illegal possession of 440 Kgs of Tobacco products which is worth about Rs. 2,24,112/-. Based on the confession statement of the said accused the petitioner added as A2 in crime No.357 of 2024.
3. Heard both sides.
4. Considering the gravity of the offence and the investigation is at initial stage. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 01.04.2024 pbl https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
