Respondents Prayer:- Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to pass an order directing the respondents police not to harass the petitioner. For Petitioner :Mr.A.D.Jagadish Chandira For Respondents:Mr.C.Emalias Additional Public Prosecutor

ORDER

Seeking a direction to the respondents not to harass the petitioner, the petitioner has come up with this petition. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

3.It is seen that on a complaint lodged by one Usman, the petition enquiry is pending.

4.In my considered opinion, no blanket direction as prayed for by the petitioner could be given. If the petitioner is wanted either for enquiry or for interrogation, he can very well be summoned by the respondent police and while doing so, the petitioner shall not be harassed. At the same time, the petitioner should submit himself to the respondent for interrogation and enquiry. It is made clear that this order will not shield if the petitioner is involved in cognizable offence.

With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
