PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant permission to conduct the dance program as a part of cultural programs of Sri Kuppathu Mariamman Sri Kaliyamman temple festival on 07.04.2023 from 7 P.M. onwards, adjacent to the said temple at Puthur Periyar Nagar, Salem District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 23.03.2023.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission to conduct cultural Programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Sri Kuppathu Mariamman Sri Kaliyamman temple festival on 07.04.2023 at 7.00 P.M. onwards by considering the petitioner's representation dated 23.03.2023.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct the cultural programme in the event of Sri Kuppathu Mariamman Sri Kaliyamman temple festival on 07.04.2023, the petitioner has sent a representation, dated 23.03.2023 to the respondent Police. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent police has received the

representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent/Police.

5.It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a Circular Memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the respondent police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.03.2023 and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No

costs.
