ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2021 for removal of encroachment made by respondents 4 to 8 in the water channel comprised in S.Nos.214/2A1, 214/2B1, situated at Selakarichal Village, Sithanickenpalayam, Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore, Coimbatore District and to provide free flow of water.

2. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, has produced records to show that the land in S.No.214/2A1 is classified as Manthai. So far as the other land is concerned, the land covered in S.No.214/2B1 is classified as Natham.

3. Therefore, we hereby direct the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2021 and survey the land and if there is any encroachment in S.No.214/2A1, which is classified as Manthai, steps shall be taken to remove the encroachment and restore the same as Manthai. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
