The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 23.07.2018.
2. According to the petitioners, after their marriage they remained issueless for a long time. Hence, in the year 2008, the petitioners decided to adopt a girl baby viz., G.P.Saidharshana, from its biological parents viz., K.Stephen Raj and S.Jennifer, by adoption. Evidencing the same, an adoption deed was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
registered before the S.R.O at Pammal vide Doc.No.1105/2008. It is further stated that the birth certificate of the child reflects the name of the biological father and mother. Hence, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 23.07.2018 to the respondents to amend the birth certificate and record their names in the column of 'father' and 'mother' of the child. But, the respondents have not consider so far. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.
3. Since the present writ petition is filed only to consider the representation of the petitioners, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondent concerned to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 23.07.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
