O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondent to settle a sum of Rs.2,88,125/- towards 6% interest for the belated settlement of terminal benefits to the petitioner herein by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 13.02.2025.

2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner joined the respondent Transport Corporation on 01.02.1992 as Helper and retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.03.2023. The petitioner was serving as Senior Store Helper. According to the petitioner, the terminal benefits were disbursed with a delay and he now seeks interest for the delayed period. 3.A direction is therefore issued to the respondents to examine the petitioner's Service Register and verify the date when the amount was disbursed. If it is found that the amount was disbursed with delay, interest at the rate of 6% per annum shall be granted from the date 2/4

of retirement until the actual date of disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
