Respondent Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondent for wilful disobdedience of the order passed by this Court dated 08.10.2015 made in Crl.O.P.No.22451 of 2015. For Petitioners :
Mr.T.Karunakaran For Respondent :
Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz Govt. Advocate (Crl. Side)
O R D E R
Heard Mr.T.Karunakaran, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing on behalf of the respondent.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have been driven from pillar to post to get their redressal in registering the FIR which was done by the respondent on 13.07.2016 in Cr.No.941 of 2016. 3.Even though the respondent has stated that they have wrongly incorporated Crl.O.P.No.30219 of 2014 instead of Crl.O.P.No.22451 of 2015 and pleaded that they took time to rectify the same, the action of the respondent is not appreciated by this Court. Taking note of the fact that complaint has been registered on 13.07.2016 and the respondent tendered apologies, this Court accepts their submission at para 8 of their counter and also hopes that the respondent will not commit the mistake in future. If the petitioner has any other grievance, it is open to him to redress the same in the manner known to law.
Mere registration of FIR is not sufficient and the police cannot expect a sensational crime to happen on a day today basis. Each and every case should be treated on par with a sensational case.
the matter and they should wake up from the slumber. 4.With the above observations, this Contempt Petition is closed.
