Respondents Prayer:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus directing to produce the petitioner's son Shakthivel S/o.Palanisamy, convict, CT 7189, aged about 37 years now confined in Central Prison-I, Puzhal before this Hon'ble Court for medical examination at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai for his ailments and appropriate medical treatment and further direct the 3rd respondent to treat him as a normal convict at Central Prison, Puzhal without any ill treatment and harassment in prison.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The apprehension of the petitioner is that categorizing the detenu as mentally ill one, he was put into solitary confinement.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that after treatment, the detenu has become normal and he is now in the prison along with other prisoners and therefore, solitary confinement is no longer be followed. The said statement of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor stands recorded.

3. In the view of the above, the detenu shall not be kept in solitary confinement in future unless an acute necessity arises. Accordingly, this Habeas Corpus petition is closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar (CS-VIII) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar Sk To
