O R D E R

This petition has been filed to quash the FIR.628/AM2 of 2013 dated 14.12.2013 on the file of the 1st respondent police.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners; learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent and perused the materials placed on record.

3. On reading of the FIR, it appears that the petitioners are Engineering students who were racing in two-wheelers menacingly on 14.12.2013 around 21.30hrs, causing panic to public. It is also seen that the de facto complainant who was crossing the road sustained injuries.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are students and that, some of them were also injured in the incident.

5. Since there are sufficient materials in the FIR for investigation to proceed, it cannot be quashed. Nevertheless, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation within a period of three months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and file a Final Report before the concerned Court. With the above direction, this petition is closed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
