ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to extend the petitioner's licence granted for the collection of market fee/toll Page No.1 of 4
for the 'daily market' and 'weekly market' at Thalaivasal Panchayat, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 28.01.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Mr.K.Surendran, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.
3. The petitioner claims that he is in possession of a valid licence from the respondent for the collection of market fee/toll for the daily market and weekly market at Thalaivasal Panchayat. He also claims that earlier the petitioner's licence was extended. He seeks for further extension through his representation, dated 28.01.2026. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondent, if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.

5. For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation, dated 28.01.2026 seeking for extension of licence in his favour for the collection of the market fee/toll for the daily market and weekly market at Thalaivasal Panchayat for further period, within a period of four weeks (4) from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
