ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to disburse a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- sanctioned in favour of the petitioner under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Farmers Social Security Scheme, together with interest, based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025.
2. The case of the petitioner is that her husband, late Janagaraj, an agriculturist, died in a road accident on 07.02.2015, leaving behind the petitioner and their children as legal heirs. Further, it is stated that the petitioner's husband was a member of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Farmers Social Security Scheme, under which a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- was sanctioned to the petitioner by proceedings dated 27.10.2016. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the said amount has not been credited to the petitioner's bank account till date.
It is the case of the petitioner that as per the communication of the 3rd respondent dated 18.09.2024, her claim was reflected in the annexed list at Serial No.25. Subsequently, it came to light that the amount, though processed, was returned through the banking channel and re-credited to the Government account, as evidenced by the communication dated 11.04.2025 of 2/5
the Assistant Treasury Officer, Sub Treasury, Kangayam. Despite repeated requests and representation dated 10.02.2025, no effective steps have been taken for disbursement of the sanctioned amount.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner that despite repeated representations, the sanctioned amount has not been disbursed. He further submitted that the petitioner, being a widow from an economically weaker background, has been put to severe hardship due to the inaction of the respondents. Therefore, he seeks a direction for disbursement of the said amount along with interest, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025 would be considered and appropriate steps would be taken in accordance with law for disbursement of the eligible amount, subject to verification. In view of the above, he prayed for suitable directions from this Court.
5. This Court has considered the submissions made by learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed on record.
6. This Court is of the view that no prejudice would be caused, if a direction is issued to the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025 and take appropriate steps for disbursement of the sanctioned amount, if the petitioner is otherwise eligible. 3/5

Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim for interest, the 2nd and 3rd respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, and take necessary steps for disbursement of the sanctioned amount, if she is eligible, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
