Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to Permit the Petitioner / 3rd Petitioner in WP NO.21361 of 2017 to travel to Singapore between 23.04.2018 to 27.04.2018 on business related work, pending WP.NO.21361 OF 2017.

Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of MR.SATHIS PARASARAN SENIOR COUNSEL for M/S.ARUN NATARAJAN Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.VVENKATESAN SCGSC on behalf of the Respondents 1, 3 & 4 and OF MR.G.RAJAGOPALAN ASG and MR.K.SRINIVASAN for CBI for the 2nd respondent the court made the following order:- (Made by Ms.Indira Banerjee, Chief Justice) The issues involved in W.P.No.21361 of 2017 are almost identical to the issues involved in W.P.No.21305 of 2017 filed by Karti P.Chidambaram.

2. Karti P.Chidambaram had filed an application being W.M.P.No.3031 of 2018 in W.P.No.21305 of 2017 for orders of this Court permitting him to travel to the U.K. and France between 15th and 28th February 2018 and again between 20th and 31st March, 2018 in connection with his business.

3. The application of Karti P.Chidambaram (W.M.P.No.3031 of 2018) was disposed of by an order dated 16.02.2018, whereby Karti P.Chidambaram was given permission to go abroad on conditions stipulated in the said order.

4. The petitioner herein has stated that he has to travel to Singapore between 23.04.2018 and 27.04.2018 on business related work and has accordingly filed this petition seeking permission of this Court to go to Singapore. The petitioner undertakes to comply with any condition, which this Court might impose while granting him permission to travel Singapore.

5. This Court is of the view, there cannot be any impediment to allowing the petitioner to travel Singapore for three days as prayed for on the same and/or similar conditions imposed by the order dated 16.02.2018 in W.M.P.No.3031 of 2018 in W.P.No.21305 of 2017 in respect of Karti P.Chidambaram.

6. The petitioner may be permitted to travel Singapore, subject to the compliance with the following conditions: (i) The petitioner shall intimate travel dates and the itinerary, including flight details to the CBI in advance with the address of the petitioner at

Singapore;

(ii) The petitioner shall give an undertaking to appear before the CBI immediately on his return and on dates that might be fixed by the CBI for investigation, if any, after the travel period; (iii) The petitioner shall not change the entity or composition of any business concerns with which he is associated or close his own bank accounts or the bank accounts of entities and/or concerns under his control or with which he is associated;

(iv) In case closure of bank account is necessitated on account of refusal of the bank to allow operation of accounts, intimation to the CBI of the closure shall be given in advance; and (v) The petitioner shall return to India within 27.04.2018.
