This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the third respondent to register and release the sale deed presented by the petitioner for registration without insisting for production of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fourth respondent.
2. When the matter came up for hearing on 16.03.2026, Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepted notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3; and notice was also ordered to the fourth respondent returnable by this date.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up, the learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioner has placed on record a letter dated 13.03.2026 issued by the fourth respondent to the Registration Department stating no objection for registration of the sale deed presented by the petitioner for registration on the ground that the property in question is not the subject matter of any land acquisition. A copy of the said letter dated 13.03.2026 has also been handed over to the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3.
4. Since the fourth respondent has stated no objection as seen from the letter dated 13.03.2026, there should not be any impediment for the third respondent to register the sale deed presented by the petitioner for registration. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to verify genuineness of the aforesaid letter dated 13.03.2026 issued by the fourth respondent; and on verification, if it is found to be genuine, the third respondent shall register the sale deed presented by the petitioner for registration if it is otherwise in order; and thereafter, release the same to the petitioner subject to the payment of requisite stamp duty and registration fee. The third respondent is directed to complete the aforesaid exercise within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs. 23-03-2026 RKM To
