ORDER
(By D.Krishnakumar,J.) This Writ Petition has been filed under the guise of Public Interest Litigation seeking for a direction to the respondents to allot suitable site with minimum required facilities for a Burial/Cremation Ground with an appropriate extent proportionate to the population of Anaikkattucherry Village in Pattabiram-Thirumazisai State Highway Road near to Anaikkattucherry Village.
2. Petitioner has submitted that currently there is a burial/cremation ground available at Anaikkattucherry Village which is very limited admeasuring about 3 cents, which is not proportionate to the population of the village and, therefore, he made a representation to the respondents on 02.05.2022 to allot a Burial/Cremation Ground for villagers, but the said representation remained in vain. Therefore, he filed this Writ Petition.

Learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents, on instructions, placed before this Court a Status Report, filed by the second respondent - Tahsildar, wherein, it is stated that the District Collector, Tiruvallur, has given Enter Upon Permission in Survey No.61/13 to an extent of 0.17.5 ares of Kalam Poramboke under Land Transfer Scheme vide the proceedings in R.C.No.5493/2022/N1, dated 03.05.2022, and administrative sanction was also accorded for a sum of Rs.22.84 lakhs to construct a burial ground at Sorancheri Village of Poonamallee Taluk, Tiruvallur District, and that the work was started on 29.09.2022 by Panchayat Union Commissioner, Poonamallee.
4. In view of the aforesaid statement of the second respondent - Tahsildar, we are of the opinion that no further orders are required in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. We hope that the respondent will complete the said construction as early as possible, without any delay. Index : Yes/No (D.K.K.,J.)
