ORDER
[This matter has been heard through video conference] This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.04.2021 for issuance of patta in favour of him in respect of a land measuring an extent of 35 cents situated in S.No.1899 at 36 Block, 4th Ward, Thiruvannamalai Town and Taluk. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. The petitioner claims to be an agriculturist. According to him, adjacent to his family's agricultural land, there is a government poromboke land measuring an extent of 35 cents comprised in S.No.1899 of Thiruvannamalai Town. He and his family members have been in possession and enjoyment of the above said government poromboke land by cultivating the same for several years and his father has been residing there for several years by putting up a construction in a portion of the same. He has also been paying necessary taxes and charges to the government authorities. The grievance of the petitioner is that his application dated 17.04.2021 seeking patta has not been considered by the 1st respondent. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and also perused the records carefully.
4. Considering the limited nature of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of patta and take appropriate decision on the application of the petitioner dated 17.04.2021 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly with the above directions. No costs.
