PRAYER: The Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.55 of 2020 pending investigation on the file of respondent police.

O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.55 of 2020 pending investigation on the file of respondent police.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate (crl.side) would submit that investigation in Crime No.55 of 2020 has been completed by the respondent police and the case has been closed as mistake of fact. He would submit that the respondent is taking steps to furnish the copy of the closure report to the petitioner/defacto complainant.

3. In view of the above, direction is issued to the respondent police to furnish the copy of the closure report to the petitioner/defacto complainant within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such

receipt, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the closure report by way of filing protest petition in accordance with law.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
