Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to promote the petitioner as Junior Engineer/Assistant Divisional Engineer/ and as Divisional Engineer, on par with his junior Mr.V.Ramachandran with all monetary and consequential service benefits.

ORDER

The petitioner, having entered the service as Assistant Draughtsman on 16.5.80 through the employment exchange, got his services regularized by the second respondent from the date of his initial appointment and he was also assigned with Seniority No.79. But his grievance is that he has been deprived of the right of promotion before his junior Mr.V.Ramachandran, who entered the service as Junior Draughting Officer in the year 1986 under Rule 10(a)(i) of the Tamil Nadu State and Subordinate Service Rules. Therefore, he has given a representation on 30.1.2014, but the same has not been considered. enjoying many benefits. Therefore, he has come to this Court seeking early disposal of the pending representation.

2. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, sought sufficient time to consider the pending representation.

3. This Court, considering the fact that the representation of the petitioner is pending for a long time, without going to the merits, hereby directs the respondents to consider the pending representation of the petitioner on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With this direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
