2. Mr.S.Ganesh, learned counsel for writ petitioner and Mr.A.Arunbabu, learned Standing counsel for R1 to R4 are before us. To be noted, R5, who is an alleged encroacher, has been duly served, name and full/complete address of R5 as in the short cause title is duly shown in the cause list. We are informed by the Registry that R5 has not chosen to enter Page Nos.5/8

appearance through a counsel. There is no representation either in the physical Court or on the 'VC' ['Videoconferencing'] platform. Name called out thrice in the Court and adjoining corridors. There is no response.

3. All that the writ petitioner seeks is implementation of afore-referred order dated 15.11.2018.

4. Learned State counsel for R1 to R4 submits, on instructions, that it is a massive exercise as there is a mass of encroachments and submits that Greater Chennai Corporation is in the process of issuing notices to the alleged encroachers and that this removal of encroachment drill will be completed as expeditiously as possible but in any event on or before 08.09.2025.

5. In the light of the limited scope of the captioned writ petition, we are of the considered view that it will suffice to record the stated position of learned State counsel to give a closure to the captioned matter. We do so. Page Nos.6/8

Captioned writ petition disposed of in the aforesaid manner. There shall be no order as to costs.
