COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse the petitioners the leave encashment benefits which they are entitled for the periods of 05/2018 and 05/2019 with interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the said date of entitlement to till the date of actual disbursement within a time limit to be stipulated by this Court.

Mr.R.Venkatesaperumal [in both W.Ps.] Standing Counsel ****** COMMON ORDER These writ petitions are filed for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to pay the the leave encashment benefits to the petitioners, to which they are entitled to with interest at the rate of 8% per annum.
2. Mr.R.Venkatesaperumal, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents and he would submit that the eligible amount will be paid to the petitioner within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that, in all the connected matters, this Court has consistently allowed the payment with interest at the rate of 6% per annum.
4. In that view of the matter, these writ petitions are disposed of 2/4
on the following terms:
1) The respondents are directed to disburse the leave encashment benefits to the petitioners, to which they are entitled to as per the Rules within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date on which the amounts became due till the date of disbursement;
2) If the amount is not paid within a period of eight (8) weeks, thereafter, the same shall carry the interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date on which the amounts became due, till the date of disbursement.
3) No costs.
