..Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to keep the disciplinary proceedings initiated by the 1st respondent in PR No.H1 (1)/34/2017 dated 01.06.2017 in abeyance pending disposal of the criminal case registered in Crime No.54/2017 on the file of Ariyur P.S, Vellore District.

Though the relief sought for in this writ petition is larger in nature, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner made a submission that it is suffice, if a direction is granted to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 29.07.2017.

2. The learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that departmental disciplinary proceedings are initiated by the 1st respondent and a criminal case is also pending against the writ petitioner in Crime No.54 of 2017. In this regard, he made a representation to the respondents to deffer the departmental disciplinary proceedings.

3. Without going into the merits and demerits of the case, the 1st respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 29.07.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
