O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the 3rd respondent to dispose the appeal dated 16.10.2023 preferred by the petitioner within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 and perused the materials available on record.

3. According to the petitioner, his application seeking transfer of patta in his daughter's name in whose favour, he executed Settlement Deeds vide Document Nos.1694/2018 and 21677 of 2023 and 22881 of 2023 on the file of the SRO, Thiruporur, has been rejected. Therefore, he preferred an appeal before the 3rd respondent on 16.10.2023 and the same is yet to be decided. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. Learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that any change in patta can be done only by the Tahsildar and there is no role for the Revenue Divisional Officer, in this regard.

5. In such view of the matter, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the Tahsildar/4th respondent and on receipt of such representation, the 4th respondent shall pass appropriate orders on the same on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
